WebSearch.co.il is designed as an anonymous search engine as far as technically possible: useful search without advertising, user profiling or unnecessary data collection.
1. Who we are
WebSearch.co.il is an independent search project. The service presents results from an independently operated index of public web pages and search infrastructure operated for the service.
2. Privacy principles
We do not operate targeted advertising, build advertising profiles or sell personal search histories to advertisers. We keep only technical data needed to run, secure and improve the service.
3. Technical data
Technical server data may include IP address, date and time, requested URL, browser details, referrer, submitted query and basic security/rate-limit data. This is used for operation, security, debugging and abuse prevention.
4. Search queries
Queries are processed to return results and may be stored temporarily in cache files for repeated searches. They may appear in technical logs when needed for diagnostics, abuse prevention or error analysis. The service is not intended to store personal search histories.
5. Cookies
Cookies store local preferences such as language, theme, result count, ranking settings, Wikipedia settings and suggestions. They are not intended for cross-site advertising tracking.
6. Cache
Search results and suggestions may be cached for a limited time to improve speed and reduce repeated processing. Cache entries may contain the query, selected settings and the displayed results.
7. Security
We use controls such as rate limits, input validation, bot protection and server monitoring. Security logs may be kept when needed to investigate abuse, attacks, spam or technical instability.
8. External websites
Search results link to external websites. When you open an external result, that website's privacy policy applies and it may receive information from your browser.
9. Retention
Logs and cache files are kept only as long as needed for technical, operational and security purposes.
